I have a confession. Every January 1st for nearly a decade, I was a walking Pinterest board of perfection. New gym membership, a meticulously organized planner, and a mental list of all the better things I was going to do.
By mid-February, I was usually curled up on the couch, staring at the planner, feeling like a failure. Not just a failure at a workout plan, but a failure at being a human who could keep a promise to herself.
It felt like I was weak, undisciplined, or just lazy. I know so many of you feel this same, sinking exhaustion.
The truth I’ve learned as an Emotional Alchemist? We fail to follow through on our intentions not because we’re weak, but because we’re trying to build a new version of ourselves on an energetically unstable foundation.
You can’t pour fresh water into a leaking cup. You can’t launch a rocket ship from a wobbly platform. It’s time to stop pushing and start aligning.
Let's talk about the energy alignment nobody talks about.
The Root Chakra is Already in Survival Mode
Take a deep breath and look around at the reality of adulting. Bills, demanding careers, family expectations, maintaining a home—it’s a lot. We are conditioned to believe that success only comes from a brutal cycle of hard work, dedication, and brute force. Rest is seen as lazy, and being overwhelmed is a cue to "keep going".
No wonder you feel like curling up in front of the TV after work. Every day is an assault on your Root Chakra —your energy center for security, stability, and belonging.
When your Root is constantly whispering, “I’m doing the best I can to survive,” it pulls all your resources down to basic protection. When the foundation of your energy system is unsteady, everything above it wobbles. This basic state of feeling perpetually unsafe makes it nearly impossible to confidently take the steps toward change.
The Solar Plexus is Exhausted and Underpowered
If your Root Chakra is the foundation, your Solar Plexus is the engine that converts intention into action and self-worth. This is your center of personal power and will.

The plot thickens: when your Root is stressed and panicking, your Solar Plexus burns out trying to compensate and overachieve. You want to work out, meditate, stick to a routine, and keep those promises to yourself—but your energy system says: "Girl... with what energy?"
This is why motivation isn't enough. Motivation is mental; follow-through is energetic. You need a regulated, empowered Solar Plexus to generate the sustainable, confident energy required to move. If you are constantly operating from a place of willpower (pushing through), you are bypassing your power (natural, grounded energy).
The Third Eye Gets Clouded by Information Overload
The next piece of the puzzle no one addresses is that because you are running overwhelmed, your Third Eye —the center of intuition, clarity, and inner knowing—gets foggy.
You lose your sense of direction. You second-guess your choices. You get stuck wondering, “What do I even want anymore?”

We’ve been taught the lie that our mind is the problem solver. That little voice that ruminates over and over when you’re stressed is trying to help; it’s attempting to figure a way out to save you from catastrophe. But your mind was never meant to solve the problem of emotional exhaustion. Your intuition is here to guide you without the mental stress.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where your intuition has to fight your mental notifications just to get a word in. This third-eye fog makes your vision and intention unclear, ensuring your goals feel hollow before you even start.
The Crown Chakra Quietly Disconnects
The Crown Chakra is the anchor for your why, your deeper purpose, the meaning behind the goal. It’s your connection to something bigger than yourself.
But when your Root is shaky, your Solar Plexus is tired, and your Third Eye is scattered, the Crown dims.
Not because you aren’t spiritual, and not because you don’t have purpose—but because there is too much noise and static in the lower centers to hear your own higher guidance.

Your goals feel like tedious chores instead of an exciting mission. The "New Year, New Me" dream collapses not from lack of discipline, but because your entire energy system has been multitasking survival, burnout, and confusion.
The Ritual: Setting Intentions You Can Actually Stick To
You need to clean the slate and rebuild your energetic foundation before you start planning. That’s why we created the “New Year, Who Dis” Ritual Kit, which includes the tools for deep cleansing and intention setting: the Get Sh*t Done Cleansing Sugar Scrub, the Enlightened Vibes Body Oil Candle, and the Bow to the Crown Intention Setting Oil.
Your 3-Step Energy Alignment Ritual
- Scrub Away the Scarcity (Root Clearing/Solar Empowering): Use the Get Sh*t Done Cleansing Sugar Scrub in the shower. As you scrub, imagine you are scrubbing away every bit of self-doubt, every stressful worry, and the accumulated baggage of years of “trying.” Let the sugar exfoliation physically and metaphorically wash away the instability of the past so you can start refreshed and rejuvenated.
- Ignite Your Inner Guidance (Third Eye Clarity): Light your Enlightened Vibes Body Oil Candle. Once the warm oil pools, extinguish the flame and massage the oil into your skin. As you do, imagine a glowing, deep purple light emanating from the point between your brows, clearing the fog and sealing in your intention for clarity and inner knowing.
- Anchor Your Mission (Crown Connection): Hold the Bow to the Crown Intention Setting Oil. Anoint your pulse points and quietly set your intention for the new year. Make it an energetic intention, not just a goal. For example: "I release doubt and welcome faith," or "I align my energy to receive joy and abundance." This grounds your deeper purpose, making your goals feel like a mission.

There’s Nothing Wrong With You
The new year doesn't require a "New Me." It requires a cleared, aligned, and honored You.
You are not undisciplined. You are energetically exhausted. This year, let's stop setting resolutions from a place of fear or self-criticism and start setting intentions from a place of sovereignty and flow.
When your energy is aligned from Root to Crown, your Solar Plexus will naturally power the steps, and your Third Eye will clearly illuminate the path.
Glow intentionally. Live in your flow.
